Generally speaking, stairlift batteries can last anywhere from two to five years. This depends on the quality of the battery in your stairlift and how well you take care of your stairlift over time, e.g. ensuring that the chair is on its charging point when it isn’t in use.
How Do I Charge My Stairlift Batteries?
Your stairlift battery is pretty self-sufficient. All you have to do is make sure that your stairlift is on its charging point after every ride by parking it. Any newly installed stairlift should have an indicator of some sort to let you know that the battery is being charged. If you consistently leave the stairlift off its charging point, you’ll cause more wear and tear to the battery than normal, resulting in having to replace it early.
How Do I Know When To Replace My Stairlift Battery?
There are a few telltale signs that it’s time to call up Jersey Shore Lifts and get your stairlift battery replaced:
- You will begin to notice the stairlift traveling slower than normal, or it will begin at a normal speed and slow down as it reaches the top.
- Your stairlift will stop midway through its journey and then continue
- The battery is no longer charging at its charging points
